Litigation

If litigation can't be avoided, it may be that Metcalfe Briggs Surveyors may be asked to report to the court as an expert witness. In situations where an expert witness is appointed by both parties, those expert witnesses should meet to carry out the following services:

  1. narrow differences
  2. prepare joint statements or reports for the court
  3. give evidence to the court
  4. be cross-examined during a hearing

This same scope would be valid in the realms of arbitration, expert determination or via the RICS dilapidations dispute resolution scheme.
